Republican Nancy De Leo, a political newcomer, is running against three-term state Rep. Bill Fromhold, D-Vancouver, for the chance to represent the 49th District in Olympia
De Leo, a 52-year-old software development consultant, said she filed for the seat in late July in part out of frustration that the 2006 Legislature didn't pass tougher sex predator legislation. "I want to see tougher mandatory sentences for sex offenders and a more serious effort to rid our community of methamphetamine labs."
