In Our View - Johnson for Court... Johnson for state Supreme Court: One contested race for the Washington Supreme Court is on the ballot. Highly respected veteran state Sen. Stephen Johnson of the Kent-Auburn area is our choice over incumbent Justice Susan Owens of Forks.
The King County Bar Association rated Johnson "well qualified" and rated Owens as "qualified." Johnson's intellect and demeanor are impressive. He is also known for working well with members of both parties in the Legislature.
A Republican now seeking a nonpartisan office, Johnson was one of two whom the Washington State Bar Association named as 2005 "Outstanding Elected Official."

Constitutional Law PAC on Johnson:
"The committee rated four incumbent judges as “Very Well Qualified”... State Senator Stephen Johnson was the only non-incumbent rated Very Well Qualified."
The CLPAC is a bi-partisan committee formed to work for the election of judges who believe in judicial restraint.
