AN ETHIC OF
LIFE IN PUBLIC POLICY
1. From a "consistent ethic of life" perspective, in what ways can city
government advance respect for human life? Our city
government can advance respect for human life by partnering with local
churches, non-for-profits and individuals that seek a better community by
meeting human needs.
What are some
of the more important ways in which city government promotes respect for
human life, especially for the unborn, infirm, poor, homeless, and refugee?
Politicians must understand that government cannot,
nor should it meet every human need. When it comes to the defense of babies,
the sick, the poor, the homeless, and refugee, Governments role is to be the
safety net in case ministries, churches, non-for-profits cannot meet the
need of the community.
