QUALIFICATIONS
Please state
your
professional
experience,
community
involvement,
education,
family
successes
and other
qualifications
for a
school board
position.
Do
you
have
children of
your
own?
I started
fighting
against the
implementation
of
comprehensive
sexual
education in
the Battle
Ground
School
District in
2018.
I
have
actively
fought
for
the
rights
of
parents
at
the
district
level
and
in
Olympia
testifying
before both
of
the
education
committees
in
the
House
and
Senate.
I
led
the
signature
gathering
efforts
on
ref.
90 in Clark
County, to
repeal the
K-12
Comprehensive
Sexual
Education
mandate.
I
was
the
director
of
the
Washington
chapter
of
Parents’
Rights
in
Education
for
4
years
and
then
was
the
Defender
Care
Specialist
at the
Family
Policy
Institute
for 2 years.
I
have spoken
numerous
times to
parent
groups
around the
state
including
the Crisis
In Education
Summit in
2023.
I
started the
Conservative
Caucus at
the WA State
School
Directors
Association
and was
instrumental
in
eliminating
the
weighted
vote
and
bringing
fairness in
voting
at
the
WSSDA
General
Assembly.
I
also
assisted
in
the
creation of
Initiative
2181, the
Parents’
Bill
of Rights.
In 1992 I
received a
bachelor’s
in art from
Southern
Oregon
University
and worked
as a
classified
and
emergency
substitute
teacher
for
the
Battle
Ground
School
District
when
my
kids
were
in
school.
I
have
been married
for 26 years
and have 3
grown
children.
POLICY
POSITIONS
You
may
state
here
any
policy
positions
you
have
in
relation
to
the
office
you
are
seeking:
I
believe
parents
are
the
first
and
primary
educator
of
their
children
and
it
is
the
responsibility
of
schools to
partner with
parents in
educating
their kids.
I
believe in
a
recommitment
to
teaching
the
basics in
order
to
raise
test
scores and
achieve
educational
excellence.
I
will
work
with
the
district
to
make
sure
every
student
is
reading
at
grade
level
by
4th
grade.
I
believe
we
need
greater
transparency
and
fiscal
responsibility.
I
will
work
towards
greater
community
involvement
in
our
schools
and
better
communication
with
parents and
the public.
